“Photography is a superb medium of telling a story, explaining an event or describing a point in history and that is something i always endeavour to achieve”

Having established his photography business in 2010 at the age of 19, Jack's work has garnered widespread recognition in railway publications and literature for various Train Operating Companies and Heritage Railways. His experience and skill have even led him to photograph prominent figures such as Prime Ministers, faces from stage & screen, and members of the Royal Family.

Jack's journey with photography began at the age of five when he first held a camera. At the tender age of seven, he won a photographic competition in the under-18 category at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. His father, an enthusiastic amateur photographer, played a pivotal role in nurturing Jack's passion. Together, they would venture out to photograph steam engines across the country. His father taught him the art of composition and the value of capturing the perfect shot, emphasising the importance of making every frame count due to the cost of film at the time.

Despite not studying photography in college or university, Jack honed his skills through years of practice, learning from his mistakes, and pushing the boundaries of his craft. While still in school, his work was first published by The Railway Magazine in 2005, igniting his enthusiasm for photographing the railway scene for the trade publications. This passion has continued to drive him to this day.

In 2010, at the age of 19, Jack embarked on his professional photography career during a recession. Initially, he specialised in wedding, portrait, and commercial photography to explore various aspects of the industry. However, he soon realised that his true passion lay in railway photography, which opened doors to opportunities in other industries quite quickly.

Today, Jack's work is highly regarded across a wide range of industries, both in traditional media and online platforms. He has made several appearances on television and even performs on stage, touring the country with his one-man stand-up photography show titled 'From Railways to Royalty'. Through this show, he shares his experiences and anecdotes, captivating audiences with his unique perspective and passion for photography.

Jack's journey as a professional photographer is a testament to his dedication, skill, and ability to carve a niche for himself in the competitive world of photography.
