“Photography is a superb medium of telling a story, explaining an event or describing a point in history and that is something i always SET OUT to achieve”

More than just a photographer!

Jack Boskett launched his photography business in 2010 at the age of 19, quickly gaining widespread recognition for his work in railway publications and literature, as well as for Train Operating Companies and Heritage Railways. His skill and versatility have also allowed him to capture iconic moments with prominent figures, including Prime Ministers, celebrities from stage and screen, and members of the Royal Family.

Jack’s passion for photography began at the age of five, and by seven, he had already won a photographic competition in the under-18 category at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway (GWSR). His father, an avid amateur photographer, played a key role in nurturing Jack’s talent. Together, they traveled the country photographing steam engines, with Jack learning the importance of composition and making every shot count in the era of film photography.

Although Jack didn’t pursue formal education in photography, he honed his skills through years of hands-on experience, embracing challenges and pushing the boundaries of his craft. His first published work appeared in The Railway Magazine in 2005 when he was just 14, igniting his enthusiasm for photographing the railway scene. This passion remains a driving force behind his work today.

In addition to his photography career, Jack has taken on significant roles within the railway and media industries. He serves as the Head of Marketing for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, where he oversees promotional strategies for one of the UK’s most celebrated heritage railways. He is also the Editor of The Cornishman Magazine, the in-house publication for the GWSR, as well as a regular news columnist for The Railway Magazine. Beyond these roles, Jack is the Head of Marketing for Pathfinder Railtours, helping to promote some of the most iconic mainline rail tours in the UK.

When Jack launched his professional photography career during the 2010 recession, he initially explored wedding, portrait, and commercial photography. However, it didn’t take long for him to rediscover his true passion for railway photography, which soon opened doors to a variety of other industries.

Today, Jack’s work is highly regarded across multiple sectors, and he has built a reputation for delivering compelling visuals and engaging storytelling. He has made appearances on television and tours the country with his one-man stage show, From Railways to Royalty. Through this show, Jack shares fascinating anecdotes and experiences, offering audiences a unique glimpse into his world as a professional photographer.

Jack’s impressive career, which spans photography, marketing, editorial work, and public speaking, shows his ability to carve a distinct niche in a competitive industry.
